Opioid Update 2024 - What Every Provider Should Know (Enduring Material)

During this presentation, Dr. Walia reviews historical and current information regarding opioid prescribing rates, outlines best practices for pain management and discusses various risk assessment tools.  Dr. Dedeke presented information about opioid documentation required by Oklahoma SB 1446 and SB 848, reviews the tools developed in EPIC to accommodate screening and documentation, discusses the PMP portal and reviews the Pain Management Agreement.  Ms. Ridgway reviews requirements of SB 1446 and SB 848, provides definitions and examples of various terms used in both statutes and outlines the oversight and disciplinary power granted to licensing boards.  The final segment of the presentation is a question and answer session.
