Overview
These Grand Rounds sessions will provide an in-depth exploration of specialty critical care, focusing on the management of patients with severe cardiovascular compromise. Topics include advanced strategies for cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support devices (including ECMO and ventricular assist devices), extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR), and critical care considerations in cardiac surgery and organ transplantation. Attendees will gain insights into evidence-based practices, emerging technologies, and multidisciplinary approaches that optimize outcomes for critically ill cardiac patients.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Enhance understanding of current evidence-based practices in managing complex clinical scenarios within specialty critical care settings.
  2. Improve interdisciplinary communication and collaboration to optimize patient care outcomes.
  3. Increase competence in interpreting and integrating clinical data for timely interventions.
  4. Advance knowledge of emerging technologies and innovations relevant to critical care practice.
