This course provides an overview of the clinical ethics consultation process. It is intended to better prepare Ethics Committee members and other caregivers to work with and understand reviewing clinical ethics consultations, participating in clinical ethics consultation quality improvement and participating in clinical ethics cases that are escalated to the Ethics Committee.

1. Define and describe a clinical ethics consultation.
2. Explain and illustrate the main steps of an ethics consultation.
3. Understand and describe using the four boxes model for a patient case.
